I am so very thankful for the interests that Constance and I have in common. She loves books and reading, it seems, almost as much as I do. We are reading chapter books now, and she sits quietly and listens while I read 30-50 pages each day. I don't know what I would do if she didn't enjoy reading; it's my favorite thing that we do together, and I am so excited about starting to teach her to read over the next few months.

One of my favorite things to do as a child was catching fish. There was something extremely exciting to me about buying a tiny green net at WalMart and heading to Hopeland Gardens to catch minnows. Constance, of course, enjoys this also. We don't have a little green net (yet!), but we do have a measuring cup, and it served us well:
