Right before Valen was born, after months of uncertainty and false starts, God led us to the perfect house. It's a small house; it needs some work... but it has hardwood floors, a fireplace, a barn for chickens, and an outbuilding for Nathan's ridiculously large collection of Land Cruiser parts and tools (which, in Irmo, he kept in our dining room closet).
We've started work on renovating, and we've made lots of progress already; our goal is to move in at the very beginning of July.

Here is a view of the house from the front. The barn is in the back right corner:
 


The living room and fireplace-- It's not a great picture, but you can see the pretty (old-fashioned, much worn) wood floor:
 


The kitchen, "before." It was a sickly yellow color, but it has been repainted (by my lovely mother-in-law) a wonderful creamy coffee color (pictures to follow):
 


I'll post some before/after pictures as we move through the renovation. Here are some pictures of the work in progress:
